 Muslims last fast Vimto. Fasting Muslims are guzzling cans of Vimto to get them through Ramadan, its manufacturer revealed yesterday.

Sales of the soft drink have rocketed by 14 per cent in the Middle East as Muslims drink the fruity pop when they wake to help them get though the day.

All food and drink is banned from sunrise to sunset for the month-long holy festival.

Vimto's owners Nichols first began exporting the fizzy drink to the Middle East 70 years ago. They created a stronger version so it can be used as an energy booster.

Nichols' boss Brendan Hynes, said: "We're a good news story. We're going into new markets like North Africa next."
